Key Accountabilities
Minimize Rental Equipment downtime and proper control on repair and maintenance cost.
Workshop housekeeping; ensure that the Workshop is kept clean and tidy at all times and is a safe working environment for people working there.
Quality control: Ensure that all faults on equipment for repair are correctly inspected, diagnosed, and subsequent repairs are carried out to a high standard of quality expected by our principals and customers alike.
Parts Reusability: Ensure that manufacturer's Parts reusability guidelines are adhered to in order that only those Parts required are replaced.
Quotations: Ensure that Quotations for both internal/Local repairs are received on time, reviewed and justified prior approval and commencement of work.
Training: Assess staff training requirements to ensure that personnel are equipped with the necessary skills to perform given tasks within either their appointed field or any other field so as to gain maximum productivity from a minimum number of staff, and advise the Assistance Rental Manager accordingly in order to produce an effective training program.
Create an environment in which all personnel are encouraged to participate by making their own personal contribution to the development of a lively, flexible and responsive workforce.
Tooling: Ensure that the existing tooling is maintained in an operable condition and where possible, are kept in such areas so as to ensure maximum utilization and increased productivity.
Budget: Participate in establishing the Department budget and work within allocated expenses by controlling costs to minimize expenditure.
Provide prompt and efficient field response.
Meet or Exceed customer expectations at all times.
24/7 Service Response with an Emergency Back-Up.
Implement Company and safety rules at all times.
Ensure the safety of his subordinates and ensure their compliance with established safety policies, procedures and practices.
To be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of employees and visitors in the workshop.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Educational Qualifications and Certifications: Must have a University Degree in Engineering (B. Sc. Mechanical/Electrical).
Knowledge: Ability to shoulder responsibility and have a forceful personality to ensure that “the job gets done".
Language Skills: Arabic is desirable. English is essential
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as a skilled engineer, followed by 3 years experience as a Supervisor during which time he should have been exposed to Workshop management in a Caterpillar Dealership.
