To perform maintenance, repairs, and installations on a variety of mechanical, electrical, and other systems and equipment, ensuring their efficient and reliable operation. This role often involves working both in a workshop and on-site at various company facilities.
Key Accountabilities
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and services according to established schedules and procedures. This includes lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and inspections.
Corrective Maintenance/Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other system problems. Perform repairs and replacements as needed.
Installation & Commissioning: Install and commission new equipment and systems, ensuring proper setup and operation.
Testing & Inspection: Conduct tests and inspections to verify proper operation of equipment and systems and identify potential problems.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
Parts Replacement & Installation: Replace and install parts and components as needed, ensuring proper fit and function.
Record Keeping (Maintenance): Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used, time spent, and any issues encountered. Utilize maintenance management software or systems as required.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures related to maintenance and workshop operations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Reading & Interpreting Schematics & Drawings: Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
Collaboration with Other Trades/Departments: Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians, mechanics, operators, and other departments, to complete projects and resolve complex issues.
Basic Fabrication (May be Required): May perform basic fabrication tasks, such as cutting, welding (if certified), drilling, and fitting parts.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Educational Qualifications and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training or certification in mechanical technology, industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related field is highly preferred. Relevant industry certifications (e.g., certifications related to specific equipment or systems) are a plus.
Knowledge: Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other relevant systems. Understanding of diagnostic procedures, repair techniques, safety practices, and preventive maintenance principles.
Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude and diagnostic skills. Ability to use various hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Basic computer skills for using maintenance management software and documentation.
Language Skills: Basic Arabic and English communication skills are preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a maintenance technician or in a related technical role. Experience in a related industry (e.g., manufacturing, industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, transportation, logistics) is a plus.
