Job Summary
The Certified Master Technician report directly to the Service Supervisor/Branch Manager. The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the maintenance of the equipment sold and serviced by the company. The Certified Master Technician work closely with CVA team, sales, and service departments on providing timely information related to the health of the equipment; Provide relevant recommendations for maintenance, testing adjusting, troubleshooting, component replacement, and repair decisions to the PSSR or customer
Key Accountabilities
Must be able to meet all the requirements of a Master Technician as well as work effectively with no supervision
Ensure that work assignments are completed according to the time requirement guidelines
Work closely with CVA team, sales, and service departments on providing timely information related to the health of the equipment
Analyze condition monitoring input data
Provide relevant recommendations for maintenance, testing adjusting, troubleshooting, component replacement, and repair decisions to the PSSR or customer
Work closely with technical communicators by providing pertinent information to identify potential design/quality issues and improve troubleshooting processes
Utilize all electronic data and computer programs as required to perform job duties
Provide immediate feedback to customers or dealer personnel to avoid costly downtime and/or potential catastrophic failures
Investigates price of exchange vs. cost of repair
Prepare written reports and recommendations for appropriate actions as required
Ability to install attachments sold and serviced by the company
Comply with routine reporting requirements by completing appropriate paperwork regarding work
assignments, such as work orders, warranty paperwork and tracking of equipment time, etc
Establishes and maintains communications with the branch supervisor/shop managers regarding assigned work orders and pertinent details regarding those work orders
Conduct a safety assessment before and during doing the job, organizing the workstation and removing unsafe conditions.
Works compatibly with other personnel of the Company, and able to understand and properly execute instructions given
Give assistance to other department personnel as required
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Service Supervisor/Manager, may be assigned to specialize in specific areas
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Educational Qualifications and Certifications: Technical High School or Diploma
Knowledge: Diesel Engine Systems Performance and Troubleshooting.Machine Systems Performance and Troubleshooting.Competent for Expert Level Technician assessment.Caterpillar product system operation, testing adjusting and troubleshooting.Condition monitoring Level 1.Understands and uses exchange components when appropriate and aware of the various exchange items offered by Caterpillar.
Technical Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to use electrical and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and drawings
Language Skills: English Language and Arabic is an advantage.
Experience: 10 Year minimum have experience on the heavy equipment repair and services
