Job Summary

  • Carrying out the welding activities by following drawing and work instructions.
  • Carrying out metal structures based on diagrams.

Perform all types of welds using different types of welding techniques

Key Accountabilities

  • Always operate in a safe manner and ensure safety and quality are at the forefront of the daily tasks. Drive standards for the team to ensure no harm is done to any co-worker, customer, or visitor.
  • Execute welding jobs on small and large components as per drawing and work instructions & produce quality welds. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Operate computerized welding tools, including plasma cutters and arc welders.
  • Master different welding techniques needed to support the workshop.
  • Ensures the welding machine and equipment are in perfect shape and under specifications. Supervises the third-party welders at the facility.
  • Ensures all assigned equipment (pumps, boxes, racks, skids, baskets etc. Supports management efforts to minimize general and specific Quality and HSE risks and promotes respect, understanding and adherence to safety regulations. Attempt to minimize re-work and non-conformance..

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

  • Welding certification or experience certificate.Certification to AWS standard is plus.
  • Knowledge:Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.).
  • Technical  Skills: Computer literary.Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.Knowledge of various welding techniques and Tools. GMAW (Mig) and/or GTAW (Tig) welding skills.
  • Language Skills:English language - spoken and written.
  • Experience:Minimum 5 years’ experience in working as a welder.Hands-on experience on GMAW (Mig) and/or GTAW (Tig) welding.
