Perform trouble shooting, maintenance, fault analysis, and repairs on all types of construction equipment in the field and in the workshop.
Perform the job assigned in a timely and accurate manner develop the initiative to learn and perform the Mechanical and Electrical skills independently and with confidence.
Key Accountabilities
Trouble shoot, maintain and repair electrical problems on heavy construction equipment, including but not limited to the equipment mentioned below.
Perform detailed fault finding inspection on all types of construction equipment.
Independently decide on whether to stop a machine in the field, to avoid damage before commencement of repairs.
Independently determine if a machine should be exchanged or can be repaired in the field, in case of breakdown.
Submit accurate and complete Inspection Reports, as required by the Service procedures in the field and the workshop.
Note and report all defects, damage, misuse, abuse or lack of maintenance on the equipment inspected in the field and the workshop.
Responsible for minor and major mechanical repairs, within his technical ability.
Advise and note on the Service Work Order all estimated and actual Parts requirements, cost, and time needed to repair equipment within the Service procedures.
Report on each Service call or repair according to procedures.
By delegation and in the absence of Rental Service Supervisor, assign various repair and Service tasks to other Mechanics or Electricians, according to their skills.
Give instructions, assistance, and training to other Mechanics or Electricians, as required by the Rental Service Supervisor.
Keep abreast of all changes in the various models of equipment in the Rental fleet.
In conjunction with the Rental Service Supervisor, arrange and take advantage of all opportunities to attend training courses to upgrade his competence.
Maintain and comply with safety procedures at all times. Keep the workshop clean and tidy.
Maintain the Company vehicles and tools in a clean and orderly condition.
Responsible for the return of literature, tools, equipment, and Parts, at the end of each working day, to its allocated place.
Must be ready to respond to equipment Service calls and any other Service related work at all hours of day or night, as required.
In conjunction with other Service personnel, fit, connect, and arrange setups, including cabling of generators and auxiliary equipment, in accordance with the technical specifications and requirements, maintaining safety precautions at all times.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Educational Qualifications and Certifications: Secondary level of education, followed by Electrical apprenticeship.
Knowledge: Understand Service manuals and write Work Orders.
Technical Skills: Mobile machinery includes Cranes T.M., A.T., R.T. , Wheel Loaders, Forklifts, Compactors, Dozers, Graders, Backhoe Loaders, Excavators, Man Lifts, Skid steer Loaders, Telescopic Handlers, Trucks. Stationary machinery includes Generators, Compressors, Tower Lights, Welders.
Language Skills: Arabic is desirable and English is Essential.
Experience: Secondary level of education followed by a minimum of 3 years in a similar field. Proven experience in working in field service and workshop on heavy construction equipment, diesel generators, transformers, panel boards, cabling. Must show the ability to work independently, with good knowledge of the English language to enable him to read and understand Service manuals and write Work Orders.
