Job Summary
- Supervise metal cleaning, chemical treatment & blasting cleaning, grinding of fabricated components, finished products.
- Supervise wet painting and powder coating operations of fabricated components and finished products.
Accountabilities
- Organize and allocate work to painters.
- Evaluate the paints for correct mixing and application.
- Color tinting and mixing are based on specifications and production schedules.
- Ensure good quality by regularly inspecting work in its various stages of progress.
- Sign-off test reports for surface preparation and other specified quality checks for painting.
- Keep all painting tools and equipment in excellent working condition by following manufacturer instructions for preventive maintenance.
- Conduct daily/routine checks and report any major problem in the paint shop equipment to the maintenance supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout his section.
- Implement company and safety rules at all times with regard to painting.
- Mentors promise performers to upgrade/improve their skills in areas such as but not limited to painting, grinding, chemical treatment, and blast cleaning.
Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years as a painter after successful completion of apprenticeship or in-house training.
Special Aptitudes:
- Should have completed at least some good vocational courses or in-house experience of painting.
- Must exhibit an acceptable level of basic painting knowledge.
