Job Summary

• Supervise work of fabrication team and ensure a smooth operation of workshop and production schedule.
• Carry out hands on coaching as and when required.

Key Accountabilities

• To supervise, monitor and control daily work and adhere to document control procedure.
• To coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities if any and keeping up to date of materials and consumables tool for fabrication usage.
• Check and limit the wastage of materials/consumables.
• Coordinate with other supervisors for proper execution of Production schedules, able to reset priorities based on inputs available from superiors.
• Conduct daily inspection and safety walkabout within fabrication workshop .
• Monitoring and control of housekeeping standard within the workshop area.
• Conduct risk analysis of new methods, procedures and practices.
• Inspect materials and product to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance/calibration requirements of machines and equipment.
• Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

• Educational Qualifications and Certifications: Vocational Diploma Graduate.
• Knowledge: Able to interpret Engineering Drawings. Relevant experience within steel fabrication industry more than 5 years would be an advantage . Must be able to communicate well and have supervision experience.
• Technical Skills: Able to work and set machines including but not limited to guillotines, Break presses and Turret punches.
• Language Skills: Fluency in both English and Arabic. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience: Mechanical and Electrical Apprenticeship. Minimum of 4 years post apprenticeship and workshop experience, preferably with at least one year supervisory experience. At least 3 years supervisor hands on experience in a similar welding and fabrication shop with a multi national workforce.
