Job Summary

Assist in providing a safe and healthy environment for employees, customers, visitors and the society. Serve as Emergency Response Coordinator as required. Assist the Senior EHS Specialist with company safety meetings and facility inspections.

Key Accountabilities

Assists administratively in coordinating, implementing, and maintaining the company’s Safety and Environmental Management System.Conducts formal facility and workshop inspections on a quarterly basis and provide the Senior EHS Specialist with reports that include the impact of the company's operations on the environment and advise on measures to reduce that impact; and ensure the company's operations are in line with corporate environmental direction.Assists the Senior EHS Specialist in investigating and analyzing injuries and accidents, and provide recommendations for future prevention for continued safety improvement.Assists the Senior EHS Specialist in creating EHS policies and procedures, and ensures their implementation throughout the company.Maintains the EHS database ensuring that the safety and environmental records are accurate, current, and in compliance with, as per government requirements that: all permits are valid; and that all facilities and safety equipment (fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc…) are up to date through the Property Maintenance Department.Conduct and/or coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis and evaluate adequacy of proposed corrective and preventive actions from operations.Assist in the EHS management of division’s contractor.Present the company EHS management system during inspection of facilities by governmental agencies.Support operations’ efforts related to EHS compliance and emergency preparedness and lead annual emergency evacuation drills.Assist in special EHS projects on as needed basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

  • Educational Qualifications and Certifications: College diploma, university degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Safety or Environmental Health or Business Administration. Certification in Environmental and Safety Standards (ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, etc).
  • Knowledge: Experience in Emergency Response procedures.
  • Technical Skills: Good IT skills, particularly in maintaining electronic databases and use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Arabic.
  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience as an environmental or safety officer in an industrial environment.

  • Key Internal Contacts: Branch Manager. Operational Manager. Service & Site Manager.
  • Purpose of Interaction: Follow up the outcome of objectives quarterly, assigning for EHS report. Ensure enforcing EHS policies. To evaluate the risk and reviewing the assessment over sites.
  • Key External Contacts: Customers.
  • Purpose of Interaction: Safety Representative of client .
