Job Summary

The Business Development Sales Specialist – Gas Engines is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities for gas engine–based power solutions across Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on driving revenue growth by engaging key customers, project developers, EPCs, utilities, and industrial clients, positioning gas engine solutions for prime power, standby and decentralized energy applications, while supporting Zahid Tractor’s strategic growth objectives and localization initiatives aligned with Vision 2030

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for gas engines and associated power solutions across target sectors (industrial, utilities, oil & gas, data centers, infrastructure, marine, and independent power producers).
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through initiative-taking prospecting, market mapping, and account planning.
  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from opportunity qualification through solution development, commercial negotiation, and contract closure.
  • Work closely with engineering, applications, and project teams to develop technically sound and commercially competitive proposals.
  • Engage with EPC contractors, consultants, developers, and key influencers to position gas engine solutions early in project lifecycles.
  • Support tender preparation, commercial submissions, and presentations for major projects and strategic accounts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, fuel economics, and regulatory developments impacting gas-based power generation.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships and support aftermarket pull-through opportunities in coordination with service teams.
  • Aligning with Caterpillar on GAS product offering, application, and standards
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and safety requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Aptitude

  • Educational Qualifications and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Commercial/technical certifications in power generation or energy systems are an advantage
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of gas engine power generation technologies, including prime power, standby and hybrid applications. Knowledge of industrial energy markets, decentralized power solutions, and project-based sales environments. Awareness of Saudi energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and Vision 2030 objectives related to gas, efficiency, and localization
  • Technical Skills: Ability to interpret technical specifications, load profiles, and basic power system concepts. An understanding of different gas parameters, profiles, and operating tolerances. Commercial acumen including pricing strategies, margin management, and contract structures. Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and proposal development tools
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English (spoken and written). Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development or sales within power generation, energy solutions, or industrial equipment, with proven exposure to gas engine–based solutions
